FAMILY

At Choose-Mediation, we recognise that Divorce, separation and conflicts within a family are some of the most stressful and emotional conflicts which you are likely to face as an individual.

Divorce or Separation

Decisions made by a Court can sometimes add to a conflict and do not always take into consideration the real needs of your own particular family.

By using mediation, there is the opportunity to reach an agreement where you and not a Judge can decide what is best. In this way there is the real prospect of reaching a realistic and lasting solution with the possibility of avoiding conflict altogether.

The parties are free to discuss any issues which are worrying them including future arrangements for the children, finances, division of property, schooling etc

The Mediation process will normally be handled by a series of hourly sessions and it is not uncommon for an agreement to be reached within three or four sessions.

Whilst we would encourage all parties to seek advice from a Solicitor at all appropriate times, these costs can be kept to an absolute minimum by reaching agreement through mediation.

In a recent Guardian article it was reported that the average costs of a contested divorce is now estimated to be £13,000 with more expensive divorces reaching £25,000 to £50,000 (see Our Charges in comparison)

Other Family Issues

Conflicts in the family can arise over many issues and one of the most difficult jobs facing any individual is step-parenting. Problems can also arise for example with your partner’s family, a will or the care of the elderly.

Whatever the problem, CHOOSE-MEDIATION is here to help your family.
